Williamstown Open Water Challenge

GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE…THAT’S WHERE THE MAGIC BEGINS!

CHALLENGE YOURSELF this summer on Sunday December 17 at the 2017 WOW CHALLENGE and VICTORIAN OPEN WATER CHAMPIONSHIPS. This event is set to CHALLENGE first time open water swimmers, right through to World Champions and Olympians!!

BIG NEWS in 2017

  • ALL swimmers, across ALL events, including those in the Victorian Open Water Championships have the option to wear wetsuits
  • More marker buoys along the course to enhance your swim experience
  • Free event tee included with every registration
  • Hi-vis swim singlets optional
  • The introduction of 7.5km Championship event
  • All 10km and 5km swimmers will race for line honours together

Events include:

The 750m Optus Junior Dolphins Chase the Champions, 1.2km WOW Challenge, 2.5km WOW Challenge, 5km WOW Challenge/Victorian Championships, 10km WOW Challenge/Victorian Championships, and this year introducing the 7.5km Victorian Championships… CHALLENGE YOURSELF in 2017! All brought to you by our wonderful friends at Kiosk by d’ASPORTO.

Open Water Swim Clinic with Australia’s Best!

And there’s no better way to prepare for your WOW Challenge or Championship swim than to join the action at the Swimming Victoria Open Water Clinic with Swimming Victoria’s open water distance coach Michal Skrodzki and 7 times Pier-to-Pub Champion Sam Sheppard on Sunday 26th November at Williamstown Beach. 9:30AM – 11:00AM

Learn how to adapt your stroke from the pool to the open water and how to develop open water skills which will give you the edge on race day. This clinic will cover drafting, sighting, starts and finishes. Two Clinics will be conducted that will cater for beginner – intermediate swimmers. Clinics are open to adults, kids and multi-class swimmers.
